Climate change in the North Atlantic deep ocean: lessons from the recent past

This was a seminar organized by GeoLatinas & PaleoPercs where I share some of the advances of my doctoral research with fellow researchers and the community in general. I show paleotemperature reconstructions based on benthic foraminifera geochemistry and explain its meaning in changing heat uptake of the east north Atlantic in the last 30.000 years.

Reconstruyendo ambientes pasados con fósiles microscópicos

In May 2021, I was invited to share my knowledge of Micropaleontology specifically on benthic foraminifera applications. This Spanish talk was organized for the GeoCarnaval event, hosted by the Mexican student organizations AEGGI UJAT, EAGE IPN, SEG UJAT, and SPE IPN. For 30 minutes, I shared some applications of benthic forams on Earth Sciences, with an audience of undergraduate students and early career researchers.

Benthic foraminifera from the Colombian Caribbean: unravelling past environments with microfossils

This was a talk in Spanish, was organized by GeoLatinas Medellin during their II Semana con GeoLatinas offered to undergraduate students. I shared some basic concepts of micropaleontology, and dig deeper on how we use benthic foraminifera to reconstruct marine environments of the past. I also shared some specific applications of this microfossil group in industry and academia.
