What I do

  • Applied Micropaleontology

I study benthic foraminifera of the last approx. 125 million years from Colombia and the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. These microfossils help understand how marine environments changed through time, shedding light on the interactions modifying global climate.

  • Science Communication & Outreach

I believe science is for the service of society. This is why I make an effort to make scientific knowledge available to everyone. By removing language barriers we can make science more accessible as we inspire the younger generation to be part of the change.

  • Equity, Diversiy & Inclussion

GeoLatinas supported me during difficult moments in my career. Since 2019, I work with this unique organization, supporting initiatives aiming to inspire, embrace and empower Latinas to pursue and thrive in careers in Earth and Planetary Sciences.

All things in nature, that cannot be seen in plain sight, remains unknown not only to the masses, but also escapes for centuries, from those special people who look to reveal the beauties of creation. How many myriads of beings remain still to be known! How many years need to pass until we completely understand the whole of Zoology!.”
